The instalment of the new Metropolitan Seat :
The Annunciation of Romanian Orthodoxy will be this year the instalment of the Metropolitan Seat of Cluj, Alba, Crisana and Maramures. On this occasion, the Orthodox Cathedral will be assigned the rank of a Metropolitan Cathedral.

All Star Game :

The All Star Masculine basketball match of the Romanian players in First National League (Divizia A) against the team of the foreigners will be held in Cluj-Napoca, in the “Horia Demian” Hall. The match will begin at 5 pm.

The Spring of Art Books
The third edition of the Books’ Spring in Cluj, organized by the French Cultural Centre, will take place in the same nonconformist place in central Cluj. 25 editors will present their latest publications, with a special interest on art books: Apostrof, Institutul European, Aquaforte, Casa Cartii de Stiinta, Clusium, Corint, Dacia, Dragos Voda, Eikon, Galaxia Gutenberg, Humanitas, Koinonia, Korunk, Kriterion, Limes, Logos, Mediamira, Paralela 45, Polirom, Renasterea, Studia, Sfera Juridica, D'Eco, C. H. Beck, Centrul de Studii Transilvane.
At the same time, many books will be launched at the Polul Cultural Clujean.

Museums’ Night

Saturday night dedicated to culture - this is the invitation of the European Festival of the Night of the Museums in its second edition. The Art Museum, The History Museum of Transylvania and the Spelaeology Museum will invite their visitors, at the same time with other 1700 European cultural institutions, to a free guided tour into their collections. Don’t miss it!

The official opening of the Netherlands Business Support Office in Cluj-Napoca, the official representative of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Netherlands. The office will promote the Dutch businesses in Romania, together with the other 16 subsidiaries in the world.

TIFF 2006 :
The 5th edition of the “Transilvania” Film Festival, one of the cultural events of prime importance in Romania, will be held in Cluj-Napoca. The Festival will screen the latest cinema productions, many of them presented in the Venice, Cannes or Berlin festivals. The former director of the festival, Tudor Giurgiu, will present his debut feature film, "Love Sick".

The MTV Awards Romania :
Cluj-Napoca was chosen to host the 4th edition of the MTV Music Awards,
the first organized outside Bucharest. This edition will take place at the "Horian Demian" Sports Hall, when 13 awards will be offered. The event is due to begin at 7 pm, when the artists who were invited will enter the Hall, while the live broadcasting will start at 8 pm. The organizers announced the participation of many Romanian artists, such as Stefan Banica jr, Directia 5, Proconsul, Loredana, Voltaj, DJ Project, Anna Lesko, Akcent, Zdob si Zdub, HI-Q, Morandi, BUG Mafia, Sisu si Puia, Sistem vs. Sensor and Parazitii. The organizers invited Sugababes to perform in Cluj, at the event. Pepe, Altar and Luna Amara were nominated for the sections of the Awards.
